This page gives you an overview of EchoPastel and guides you through your first steps on the platform.

What is EchoPastel?

EchoPastel is a visual feedback platform that allows you to annotate any element of your web pages and collaborate with your team to improve your interfaces.

Key concepts

Echo: An Echo is a feedback project associated with a website. It's the basic unit of work in EchoPastel.

Annotation: An annotation (or "pin") is a comment placed directly on an element of your web page. Each annotation can contain text, mentions of collaborators and replies.

Organization: An organization groups your teams, members and Echos. You can create multiple organizations to manage different clients or projects.

Create an account

To get started with EchoPastel, you need to create an account:

  1. Go to EchoPastel's homepage
  2. Click on "Get started" or "Sign in"
  3. Choose your sign-in method:
    • Email and password: Create an account with your email
    • Magic link: Receive a sign-in link by email
    • Social login: Use Google, GitHub or other providers

Once signed in, you'll be redirected to your dashboard.

Create your first Echo

An Echo is a feedback project for a specific website. To create your first Echo:

  1. From your dashboard, click on "New Website" or "Create an Echo"
  2. Enter your website's domain (for example: example.com)
    • Don't include http:// or www
    • Only the domain name is needed
  3. EchoPastel will verify that the site is accessible
  4. A screenshot will be automatically generated
  5. Your Echo will be created and you'll be redirected to the annotation page

Note: The number of Echos you can create depends on your plan. The free plan allows 2 active Echos, while paid plans offer unlimited Echos.

Invite collaborators

Once your Echo is created, you can invite collaborators in several ways:

By email

  1. Open your Echo
  2. Click on "Share Echo"
  3. Enter the email address of the person to invite
  4. Click on "Send invitation"
  1. Open your Echo
  2. Click on "Share Echo"
  3. Copy the public link
  4. Share this link with your collaborators

Advantage: Invited people can leave comments without needing to create an EchoPastel account!
