Complete guide to sharing and collaborating on EchoPastel, including invitations, public links and mentions

This guide explains how to share your Echos and collaborate effectively with your team on EchoPastel.

Overview

EchoPastel offers several ways to collaborate on your feedback projects:

  • Email invitations: Invite specific collaborators
  • Public links: Share with a link accessible to everyone
  • Mentions: Mention people in your annotations
  • Replies: Reply to annotations to maintain the conversation

Share an Echo

Share by email

To invite specific collaborators:

  1. Open your Echo
  2. Click on "Share Echo"
  3. In the "Invite" section, enter the email address
  4. Click on "Send invitation"

The invitee will receive an email with a link to access the Echo.

Advantage: Invited people can leave comments without needing to create an EchoPastel account!

To share with a link accessible to everyone:

  1. Open your Echo
  2. Click on "Share Echo"
  3. Copy the public link
  4. Share this link with your collaborators

The link can be shared:

  • By email
  • On social networks
  • In communication tools (Slack, Teams, etc.)
  • Directly in your browser

Share on social networks

EchoPastel makes sharing on social networks easy:

  1. Open "Share Echo"
  2. In the "Share on social networks" section, choose:
    • Facebook
    • LinkedIn
    • Instagram

Manage contributors

View contributors

In the "Contributors" section of your Echo, you can see:

  • Organization members: People who are members of your organization
  • Contributors: People specifically invited to this Echo
  • Status: Invited, Accepted, etc.

Remove an invitation

To remove an invitation:

  1. Open "Share Echo"
  2. Find the person in the contributors list
  3. Click on "Remove invitation"

The invitation will be removed and the person will no longer have access to the Echo.

Mentions in annotations

Mention a collaborator

To mention someone in an annotation:

  1. When creating or editing an annotation, type @
  2. Start typing the person's name
  3. Select the person from the dropdown list
  4. The mentioned person will receive a notification

Benefits of mentions

Mentions allow you to:

  • Assign tasks to specific people
  • Ask for opinions from experts
  • Notify concerned people
  • Involve the right people in the discussion

Reply to annotations

Add a reply

To reply to an annotation:

  1. Click on an existing annotation
  2. The popover opens with all replies
  3. Type your reply in the provided field
  4. Click on "Send"

Manage conversations

Replies allow you to:

  • Ask clarification questions
  • Provide additional information
  • Confirm that a problem is resolved
  • Document decisions made

Real-time notifications

EchoPastel notifies you in real-time when:

  • Someone places a new annotation
  • Someone replies to your annotation
  • You are mentioned in an annotation
  • A collaborator joins your Echo

Permissions and access

Access levels

Contributors can have different access levels:

  • Owner: Full access, can modify and delete
  • Organization member: Access according to organization permissions
  • Contributor: Can annotate and reply, limited access to settings

Manage permissions

Permissions are managed at the level of:

  • Organization: Global permissions for all members
  • Echo: Permissions specific to an Echo

Clear communication

  • Be precise in your annotations
  • Use mentions to involve the right people
  • Reply quickly to questions

Organization

  • Use statuses to track progress
  • Archive resolved annotations
  • Document decisions in replies

Mutual respect

  • Respect everyone's opinions
  • Be constructive in your feedback
  • Acknowledge others' contributions

External sharing

Invite without account

One of EchoPastel's advantages is that invited people can:

  • Leave comments without creating an account
  • Reply to annotations without registration
  • Actively participate in feedback

This greatly facilitates feedback collection from:

  • External clients
  • End users
  • Consultants
  • Anyone concerned

Security

Public links are:

  • Unique to each Echo
  • Accessible to everyone who has the link
  • Controllable: you can disable public sharing at any time
